Vintage and Antique Look Butterflies

Butterflies have long been a favorite of the fairer sex, probably because of their beauty and grace. (unlike men, we can relate to that) The earliest known butterfly fossils date to the mid Eocene epoch, between 40-50 million years ago. Just think, the first human cave women admired these delicate creatures. I was surprised to learn the color on their wings is made up of tiny little scales. And unlike the myth they can live for years, even with some scales missing off their wings.
